Ok – my promise to myself to add to this blog at least once a week blew up in my face. My good intentions are well paved all the way to hell. It’s kind of like sabotaging myself.
I’ve worked on several projects, tried to keep the house clean and worked with my husband on a duplex. The duplex is a bit more than I thought it would be. It’s a two bedroom, two bath, kitchen, dining room and living room duplex that was lived in by the same renters for seven years. It’s totally amazing what it looked like when they moved out. The cabinets (every single one of them) had to be sanded or rebuilt. And then I stained them – to include the doors. I washed all the baseboards and then painted them. The walls had to be painted, the garage had to have half a wall rebuilt, and every sink had to be rebuilt which fell on the shoulders of my very capable husband. The carpet is ruined. The six year old kid must have put five thousand dart holes in his room and each hole required putty. Just a little bit more work than I thought would be needed. We’ll finish it up tomorrow – thank goodness!
Other than all of that, we’re good. The dogs are a little crazy but there’s not much I can do about it. Bailey gets upset around 11:30 each night because one of the other dogs invaded his space so I get up and go to the other bedroom. Then in the morning I wake up with two sleeping on the floor right next to the bed and two more on the bed with me. Once I’m up they line up down the hallway to watch me get their doggy biscuits. And then they wait until 4:00 for supper! They make sure at 3:00 that I know supper time is coming up soon. They don’t give me any breaks at all.
Photos will follow of a few things I did before the duplex came about. Thanks so much for visiting. Count your blessings and be sure to tell those you love that you love them. Have a great week!
