I’m working on two big projects right now. One is an old sewing machine cabinet and the other is a display case. They both turned out to be more than I can handle. Thank goodness for my husband. He can see past the current condition, see my future vision, and can fix what I find perplexing. He did an awesome job fixing both pieces and all I have to do is make them pretty. I wish I could soak up his brain for a week and learn from him.
I’m also trying out art journals. At first it was fun just painting, writing or drawing in a book. I’ve been at this off and on for three years. There’s more to it than just haphazardly coloring a page. For one thing you need to know how to draw. I missed out on that artistic ability. I can’t print worth a flip either. So my art journals need to be more comprehensive and more in depth. It’s not an easy project.
I also worked my butt off in my kitchen this week. Every cabinet has been cleaned including the pantry . Every storage container has a lid or visa versa or it was thrown out. Anything that I had more than two of was sold or is ready for a garage sale. I have a corner hutch that requires cleaning, but other than that the kitchen is in really great shape. I can honestly say I did not enjoy cleaning it for one second, but it’s done! My idea is to get this house clean so that when I die (I’m not dying) my kids won’t hate me when they have to sell it. Hell! I empty the trash can and clean the house before we leave for a day or two.
Bruce (the newest member of our family) ate another toy. The only reason I know this is because I found a six inch long bunch of furry goo in the back yard. He’s the only one in the house who eats and swallows stuffed toys. He’s more of a goat than a dog.
Have a great weekend. Count your blessings and tell those you love that you do love them. It’s an awesome thing to hear. Thanks so much for dropping by!
