I’ve written before that I retired December 21st, 2018. It’s been rough! Too much mental and physical exertion. The days are so short, so busy, but I know that I don’t have a chance of dying at my desk. That was my biggest fear – dying at my desk would have been so inconvenient in all aspects!
This week I finished “transforming” a small bookcase and two chairs, along with an end table (photos will follow). Last week I did another end table. We also planted some squash, onions, tomatoes and lettuce. I just hope they grow – I have a brownish green thumb. If they live they won’t be perfect – they might not be edible but I did try.
I don’t have any crazy dog stories this week. They behaved as well as can be expected and no one ate something they shouldn’t have or became weird on me. We actually had a really nice week.
It’s late in life for me, but I’m returning to my hippy days and need some guidance. I’ve always been called a “tree hugger” because I hate to hurt anything at all – be it an animal, person, tree, or anything at all that may have feelings. My new and old thing is to try to add one more person to save our Earth. I’m starting to reuse, recycle, compost, use grocery bags rather than plastic bags, etc. I even give the dryer lint to the birds for their nests (and they actually use it)! My question is what do I do with old plastic bags? They cause so many issues but once you have them how do you discard them? They last for years and kill animals and that’s not acceptable. I just want to be able to say I did my best for one person, but the bags are causing issues. Any ideas?
I hope you have a beautiful weekend! Count your blessings and don’t forget to tell those you love how much they mean to you.
